Guns still elusive for D.C. residents

When will the feds send troops into DC to enforce the Heller Decision? Currently all we get from Mayor Fenty is that he’ll come up with the minimum in the maximum length of time in order to avoid having to allow law abiding citizens the ability to defend themselves.

Fenty, you lost, you were wrong, the law was wrong, get over it.

Guns still elusive for D.C. residents

WASHINGTON — Days after the Supreme Court ruled that residents of the nation’s capital can keep handguns at home for self-defense, George Harley walked out of a Maryland gun shop disheartened, his goal of legally having a gun to protect his family put on hold.

Obama’s Latest “Policy Adjustment”

Apparently, running an extreme-left campaign doesn’t play very well with middle America.

Obama said this before the California Democratic Convention on 2 May, 2007:

that the last, best hope to pressure the warring factions to reach a political settlement is to let the Iraqi government know that America will not be there forever - to begin a phased withdrawal with the goal of bringing all combat brigades home by March 31st, 2008.

Here’s the entire speech.

Then I read this on Politico.com:

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on Thursday backed off his firm promise to withdraw combat forces from Iraq immediately and instead said he could “refine” his plan after his trip to Baghdad later this month.

Earlier, a top Obama adviser had said that the senator is not “wedded” to a specific timeline.

Here’s the entire article.

So once again, we have to ask the question: who is Obama trying to hoodwink: moderate and conservative voters who are a little apprehensive about a total, unilateral withdrawl from Iraq and its repercussions? or liberals, to whom he promised to withdraw totally and immediately?

Clearly, someone was lied to.
